I have been working tirelessly on this cookbook. I really wanted to create something short and simple that would ease the tension around healthy eating during the holidays. You see to me, the holidays should be a time for family and relaxation. Since I am right there with you, and have experienced the struggles of dieting and weightloss, I know how traumatic it can make the holidays and Chanukah especailly. For myself, the greatest health and balance achievment I have ever accomplished was not losing weight in a certain time frame, or returning to pre-baby size quicker than anyone else; The greatest accomplishment is taking back the joys of eating, entertaining and holidays from the diet industry. I look at each Shabbat and day of Chanukah as an opportunity. I can eat whatever I like, I can live completely in the moment, I just have to know what I want to feel like and accept that food has consequences besides weight gain and great taste. My respect for myself, my feelings, my blood sugar, my moods and my overall joy in my life, as well as the joy of eating can weigh into my deicsions instead of basing all of my decision and choices on a weekly weigh in. For anyone who has joined my sugar detoxes you know we spend as much time on emotional and spiritual health, as we do on what to eat. If you deicde to learn more about a sugarless lifestyle join our next detox on January 4, 2015.
