I am trying to avoid to much sugar this new year and really give as much to my health, as I want to get in my prayers for the New Year. So, in order to enjoy the themes and foods of the holiday, I've created a special easy make ahead breakfast to enjoy, instead of apple cake. You guys saw it and requested the recipe, for your own healthy new year.
If you feel the same way about the holidays, you can even join me in our October Challenge Group: Success Club for the New Year. We will continue till the end of Sukkot focusing on daily 30 minute exercise programs form the beachbody library and realistic healthy choices.
6 Green or red Large apples, I used a red apple here.
1.5 Cups Cooked Oatmeal of your choice. I used Oatmeal with vanilla and cinnamon.
Core the apple with a melon-baller making plenty of room for the oatmeal.
Cook the oatmeal according to package instructions
Stuff the apples with the cooked oats and 1 teaspoon of your toppings, or skip them for a lower calorie option like I did.
The top with a little cinnamon and put them all in a baking dish. Fill with 3/4 cup hot water and add the tea bag.
Cover with Aluminum foil or a lid
Bake 15 minutes then uncover, spoon the tea form the bottom over the apples and turn up the heat to 400 F 200C for another 5 minutes. Then pull out and top with 1 teaspoon of your toppings and enjoy with some of the delicious infused tea below. Great served cold as well.
