I made a commitment to study 10 minutes of personal development everyday this year. Each book always feels like it is coming at just the right time. (I love how that happens) I am just starting my 4 book, GRIT. The key lesson in the opening of the book is perfect for having a healthy vision of success in navigating the Sukkot holiday.
What should that healthy vision be? Keep going. When you find yourself in situations and in challenges that you have never overcome before, keep going. When you stumble on the decadent chocolate cake or the third helping of food, keep going. When you are tired and too cranky to exercise one day, keep going. Success in healthy living this year will not be defined by how many portions of food you skipped, but by how you manage to keep trying at every meal to choose wholesome foods and how you prioritize time each day to get 30 minutes of activity.
How do you know if you are gritty enough to succeed? I know you are, since you are ready to live a balanced joyful and healthy life. You will know you are, by doing it. Life means challenge and success means going on to get the walk in after overdoing it at the buffet, without the guilt trip.
Have a beautiful and joyful Sukkot! Let's get Gritty together.
