Hi Guys, Its a new Challenge and as my group goes back to basics, that means to basic good strategies to improve their health through daily habits. I invited many of my returning challengers to join me on a new adventure. I have skipped around programs doing one week of this and then 2 weeks of that, before I found my sweet spot of 30 days. I could hold myself together for 30 days, then let off some steam, relax a bit and then regain my footing and keep going. It has been a tremendous year.
However if I want to keep being a great Coach to you, and a leader to my team of coaches, I need to keep up the challenge and that means working on weakness, through using my strength. That means my determination and my habit of following a meal plan and working out everyday, that I have been growing for the last 18 months is going to help me to push past my workout ADD and do the same program for 12 weeks. Why 12 weeks? Because, I have learned to be coachable. Chris Downing, the creator of shift shop, invited me and my challengers and team who are up to the challenge to join him and be a part of large movement of personal development for the next 12 weeks. I have learned that when I am asked to be better the answer is yes. He just gave up the exact schedule to follow and told us to count our reps, so we can see and grit through each workout. It also helps me to keep from getting bored, and works with my competitive spirit. Can I get more reps than yesterday?
A huge element in our groups is personal development. We cannot meet any goal unless we mentally shift to achieve it. Then, it becomes a lifestyle, a welcome part of our life and not a punishment. All 2,000 of us coaches and challengers will be reading GRIT by Angela Duckworth with Chris. If you look at past blog posts from this time of year ( Sukkot) you will see how much I love this book. To read it again will only help the messages sink in deeper.
