How are we doing? How are you doing? come find me on instagram @lilyaronin and let me know how you are prioritizing your mental, physical and emotional health.
I thought that this might be the perfect time to share a few of my best strategies that I helping people with over this trying period.
1. Don't quit, don't pause, don't wait till things calm down. We all know that finding a way to start our healthy journey "tomorrow" is the number one reason we have not seen sustained results.
Don't Quit! Have you been working out at a gym? Training for a marathon? Building strength or stamina at Crossfit ? Don't quit on your goals. When we pause our healthy journey for "life" we find that we miss the opportunity to leverage those good habits that we have been building to make our life actually better. We need those habits during tough times, don't to ditch those habits.
In fact, Think about how you wan to feel, when this crises passes? Like you lost months of your life? or like you used the time to build a more resilient body and relationship.
2. Don't Pause ! I need to see what is going to happen. The fear of uncertainty is overwhelming for everyone. we love to be certain, in fact, we'd rather be certain it is all going wrong then be uncertain. So when we feel uncertain, we want to pause. Ill keep going with healthy eating, but after I know what is happening with Passover, or with my kids. In fact, that loophole just helps us to choose to fail in advance. WE already break the habit so that we don't get frustrated later if due to extenuating circumstances things might fall through.
Pause is just stop that we don't feel like calling quitting. Get creative, how can you redefine that goal? How can you flex it? But never choose to pause it.
3. When things calm down. I love you. I got you. i'm holding your hand. things are not calming down. We can stay calm, but the economy and country in which you live will be in uncertainty for awhile. You can lean into looking for the cool twist, like learning how to do without things you thought you could not live without, or teach your kids about nutrition and health or fitness or money management or simple gratitude and pleasures.
