Where should I start?
The more vegetables you eat, the more full and satisfied you will feel at your ideal weight.
Vegetables are the food of abundance. Nutrient dense but calorie light, so they combat the modern challenge of too much food and not enough nutrients from our ecosystem. Eat them most at every meal for best results.
How much should I drink?
Water is critical to long-term happiness with your weight. More water helps muscle tissue stay supple to avoid injury, helps with water retention from salt and stress, and keeps your appetite in check, so you eat more mindfully.
Start with 1/2 your body weight in lbs in oz of water. That means 200 lbs begin with 100 oz of water, which is slightly over 3 liters.
I recommend an active woman aim for a 3-4 liters 100-130 oz a day no matter her weight to get started. Look for some great water enhancers on youtube below.
How often should I weigh myself?
A scale is a scary place when it is going up. I have felt like it reflects failure before too. But, the truth is that scale and measurements are things you avoid when they don't mirror your authentic self. Heal yourself! You are ready to see that weight is just one measure of your self-care. Now you can take compassionate action. Make the change you want and appreciate the effort it took. Size and weight are not the only measurements of health; you deserve to be your healthiest and happiest in the one body you have. So weigh yourself on Sunday and Thursday to start and build from there.
